Eco Innovators is an exciting afterschool program at the Okanagan Science Centre for kids aged 6-9, where young minds explore environmental science through hands-on activities and creative challenges. Each week, participants will discover ways to protect the planet by learning about ecosystems, recycling, renewable energy, and sustainable solutions. With fun experiments and projects, kids will become eco-friendly innovators, inspired to make a positive impact on the world around them!

Dates: Thursday Afternoons - April 10th to May 1st
Time: 3:30-4:30pm
This program is a 4-week commitment, with each week building on the knowledge and skills gained from the previous session. As students progress, they will dive deeper into eco-friendly concepts and hands-on projects, fostering a stronger understanding of sustainability and environmental innovation.
Week 1 (April 10th) - Introduction to Ecology & the Environment (Mini Ecosystems)
Week 2 (April 17th) - Waste Not, Want Not-The Power of Recycling & Composting
Week 3 (April 24th) - Renewable Energy & Sustainable Technology (Solar Power & Wind Power Challenge)
Week 4 (May 1st) - Eco-Innovation Project - Creating a Sustainable Future
Additional Information:
- Guardians are not required to stay with students during the program but must sign in and sign out participants each week. Youth will not be allowed to explore the science centre without adult supervision and must remain in the designated programming area until a guardian arrives to pick them up.
- This program requires a 4-week commitment, and refunds will not be provided for missed classes.
