For beginners, telescopes can be intimidating and difficult to use, but with a little knowledge and a little help, you can learn to use your telescope effectively and have a lot of fun with it! We’ll help you with that!
At this workshop, experienced amateur astronomers will assist you in learning how to use your telescope effectively and how to find and use useful telescope accessories, such as red dot finders, good eyepieces, plani-spheres, star charts, planetarium smartphone apps etc. You’ll see large and small telescopes as examples of what’s out there in the market. We will diagnose your telescope, comparing it to others and tell you what you can see using your telescope in our skies, e.g. comets, planets, galaxies, star clusters, the Moon.
This is a hands-on workshop! So bring your telescope - old or new, dusty or shiny - and be ready to ask questions. Even if you don’t have a telescope, come and see what this interesting hobby is all about.
