Get ready to SLEIGH this holiday season! Throughout December, join us for Sleighing the Science Saturdays at 12:30pm (Saturdays Only) for a fun-filled series of science activities, each with a festive holiday twist. It’s the perfect way to explore exciting experiments while celebrating the season!
December 7th - Santa's Sleigh Launch (Participants will design and launch their own sleighs using various materials to test speed, distance, and stability. This hands-on activity combines creativity and physics to explore the science behind motion and forces in a holiday-themed challenge.)
December 14th - DIY Snow Globes (Participants will create their own miniature winter wonderlands by assembling a snow globe with festive decorations. This fun, hands-on craft explores the science of water displacement and creates a magical, personalized holiday keepsake.)
December 21st - Tinsel & Test Tubes (Participants will fill test tubes with festive materials like glitter, beads, and liquid to create personalized holiday ornaments.)
December 28th - No Sleighing the Science Saturday
Additional Information
Activities begin at 12:30pm - Each activity will run for approx 30 minutes to 1 hour or until individual children have completed the activity. Parents/caregivers must remain with children during the activity at all times.
Pre-registration is preferred as supplies are limited. Pre-registering for these activities ensures your spot within the activity. If spots remain on the day of the activity then we will operate on a first come, first serve basis while supplies last.
The cost of these activities is included with the cost of general admission into the science centre. Members are free.
Please arrive for the activities on time or your space may be released to other children within the science centre who wish to participate. Please visit the front desk of the science centre to check-in and an OSC team member will direct you to the activity!
