The Okanagan Science Centre is pleased to present the highly interactive and entertaining traveling exhibition Wild Weather, developed and produced by Science North, in partnership with the Ontario Science Centre.
Wild Weather invites visitors of all ages to step into the science, stories, and sheer force of nature’s most extreme events. This immersive and interactive exhibition lets you explore the fascinating world of severe weather—from lightning and tornadoes to hurricanes and heatwaves—and discover how these powerful systems shape our planet and our lives.
Through hands-on exhibits and dynamic displays, you’ll uncover the cutting-edge science behind forecasting, the growing connection between severe weather and climate change, and the real stories of scientists, storm chasers, and everyday people confronting nature’s extremes.
Travel through themed zones that bring weather to life: witness the twisting energy of a tornado, experience a thunderstorm in slow motion, and feel the intensity of a simulated hurricane. Explore the dangers of extreme heat, test your weather knowledge with myth-busting challenges, and capture your own “blown away” moment in a hurricane photo op.
Wild Weather is more than an exhibit—it’s an unforgettable journey into the forces that shape our world. Come see, feel, and experience the science of severe weather like never before.
The Okanagan Science Centre's mission isto inspire scientific inquiry through interactive exhibits and programs, encouraging all ages to appreciate the relevance and universality of science, particularly its application in the Okanagan region.
